Every time people talk abotu them, people comment how bad they got.

I wonder if everyone knows some facts about these movies.

1. There is a rumor (not confirmed yet) that this whole series, including a 7-9 was writen as a book in 1975 and then broken down into scripts.

2. the Prequels were writen at least as far back as 1983. I have seen the scripts that Lucas originally wrote. Ep 3 had the most changes done to it.

3. Yes there is a childish side to Ep 1 but can you really hold the rest against it?

4. Why do people not like Ep 3? we all knew what happened in it was coming. We all knew how it would end. People say it was too.... emotional.. Well gee,, lets see. the galaxy is falling apart. a guy has lied to everyone, declares himself emporer, and the guy we've known all along, turns into Darth Vader.. So whats the surprise?

Makes no sense what people say against these. Some of the changes in Ep 3 i wish hadnt happened. Like the real reason the fight between Obiwan

obiwan and Anakin happens, and how in the original script it happens at the beggining of the story instead of the end.

Or how the rebellion had a begggining in the original script instead of out of the blue in the final movie. In a deleted scene, Mon Mothma, Ackbar and some others meet to discuss a rebellion.

Or how some of those peoiple try to escape Corouscant when the emporer seals it off by blockade to capture the senate on planet and the to be rebellion forces fight their way out.

I agree with you for the most part. i had never heard the rumor about the books before but I love episode 3. The reason for some of the changes mainly about the origins of the rebelion were because of the books. The one that explained the origons of the rebelion kind of ruined the origonal scripts, and if they deviated from the books a lot of star wars fans (my self included) would be very uppset.

I think a lot of people do not look on the story as a whole. Each one builds on the the other. Some complained about the political scenes. It was important to show this because we need to know how Palpatine gets to where he is(how a republic becomes an empire). I also have to remind myself that I know a little more than the average person. Damn you Lucas, what with toys, comics, books, and video games(just kidding George). Also, were movies like Gone With the Wind or Breakfast at Tiffany's any better. No! The characters, story and everything else that comprised Star Wars are what makes so enduring. Not even Star Trek has fans willing to wait for months in line. We just have face that people cannot deal with success of Star Wars or that it is not controlled by Hollywood.

I was sixteen when Episode 4 came out in 1977. Later on, maybe in the early 80's, I read that George Lucas could tell the entire saga in 9 movies. I think my disappointment in Episodes 1,2,&3 is due to my previous knowledge of what led up to Episodes 4,5,&6. I thought that too much was crammed in at the expense of how Solo and Chewie met and some of their misadventures. But it was good. Of course it took so long to make them that I had changed too much to enjoy them like I enjoyed "The Empire Strikes Back."

Hey, don't sweat it. I think they were a lot of fun. Snobbery will happen anywhere.

The SW series did a lot to improve the way all movies are made.

;-D Beam me up Scotty! Ooops. May the force be with you!
