Friendship and all relationships is based on truth - and on the ability to forgive so you should always tell the truth.

People make mistakes and what matters is if you learn from them and if you did , you won't do it again - the problem is if you did it again - then it isn't a mistake anymore.

You may lose a friendship bases on whatever it is that you did but the "truth will set you free". You may hurt that person but the truth is always the better option or you end up telling a lie and then telling another to cover it and another and so on and eventually you can't even keep up with all of those lies - so tell them. Hopefully they will forgive you or respect you for at least being honest and coming to them. Whatever happens though, you may not have done the right thing, but now you are and that is important and you must know you should cause you asked this question - don't feel guilty anymore - fess up - and maybe you will realize that you shouldn't lie ever since the fessing up is so horrible, you know?

You may not feel good about what you did but in the end, no matter what happens, you did the right thing if you tell the truth. Someone may aso forgive you but never forget and it may take a while to gain their trust back but that is taking responsibility for whatever you did and it is a good way to live - I say yes.

Truth is good unless it is used to cause hurt to someone. If this person is a friend, why would you want to hurt them. The only exception would be if their life were in danger.

YES,

Because you can not control his world. He will come to know of that truth from somewhere else and that will hurt him MORE because U Knew it and did not tell him.

I will suggest look for a decent way to tell the truth

sometimes it's best to keep mum. what they don't know might not hurt them... however if it's something serious, yes you should let them know even if they'll get hurt. if you keep silent, this serious thing will just get pushed back further and further, and in the end the hurt would be much greater. it differs for different cases though. perhaps you'll like to fully explain the situation...?

The answer is difficult. If you don't want to hurt them, then you should think twice before you tell. On the other hand, if they are going to find out sooner or later, better you tell them than someone else.

Hurting your friend instead of killing them?!Yes of course!!!
I mean, telling the truth [especially to our friends] hurts them but it frees them to the cells of ignorance.Instead of slowly killing them inside it, i would rather choose to tell them the truth.

"The uglier the truth, the truer the friend that tells it."

Some things are better left unsaid.
