Or evil computer? My cursor suddenly locks up on the screen (freezes), and then will move again once I hit ALT+CTRL+DELETE (at same time)... which doing so, brings up the task window - then I cancel the task window, aaaannnd the cursor moves again. It's driving me nuts! o.O

Any clue what could be causing it, how to fix it, where to buy Holy Water for a possesed mouse ? I'm open for all suggestions.

I've cleared the cache, did the 'compress old disc files' thing, cleared the history, cleared the cookies, and defragged it.. *le`sigh* none of it's helped. Could a virus cause this?

(No, it's not a wireless mouse either, or a lap top)

Thanks in advance darlings *virtual hug*

Your mouse needs to be cleaned. Turn it over, open it up and remove all the dirt in there with a lint-freecloth. Don't use rubbing alcohol on any part of the insides, it will dry up the rubber. Do't use soap and water either. Just the lint-free cloth. If you eat at your computer, I'll bet that there may be more than a few crumbs and dust collected from your mouse pad and desk. Gently clean the inside, replace the parts where they came from, close it up and I'll bet you will be back in business.

Maybe it's a virus causing the computer to lock up.

If it only happens when your online then its a hacker. If it happens all the time and there is any other problem it's a virus, or else ur comp os too slow and is getting overloaded.

yes it can be a virus (trojan horse), it may be because someone sent you a file via email which contains an infected attachment (could be anytype of file audio, video, photo, ...).

u have to make a full scan for viruses using your antivirus software or u can use a free scan via web just search for (free web scan) in google..

if you'r multitasking, you're probably bogging down your memory or RAM. do a disk cleanup, maybe defrag your drive, or best of all, upgrade your RAM. its quick, cheap and really enhances performance.

happy clicking!
