Why is it a good movie series always (well most of the time) gets to movie 4 and they start lacking in the way it should have been made. Ive read 2 books series that did that (including Harry Poter)

But here's a good example.

Iron Eagle.

Great original film.

Iron Eagle 2

Good sequel even had the original actors in it even though the boy from the first one dies right off.

Iron Eagle III: Aces.....

Hell of a Iron Eagle Movie. Brought Chappy back (first one in theatre i think since the original). Chappy, Senator Thompson as the air show commander, and 3 ww 2 aces fighting a modern ww2 batle over drugs. Even had a 3 time Miss Universe (body building) champion

Iron Eagle 4

First thing wrong with it was they tried to change the beggining of Iron Eagle 2. they said that he didnt die when his plane was destroyed. He parachuted into Soviet Union unitll discovered many years later at a prison.

Two things wrong.. Not even the original actor (though close....

their names were close and looked similar. might have been related.

and two, the story line was really lame.. A rogu military general wants to end communism by gassing with a specail bio weapon, cuba.. Chappy now running a juvenile flight school must uncover the plot and stop em...
And the kid from the first movie must get over what happend and his anger at the uS for not saving him, to join chappy.

what abotu the star wars movies?

For one thing they followed a script writen 20 years ago (for the prequels) and maybe as far back (if one rumor is true) as 1975 as a book writen by Lucas that has never been relased.

Yes Ep 1 had a little childish side to it, but you cant hold the other 5 against it. People put Ep 3 dwon for reasons i still cant understand.

If they knew the original plot for the movie they might think diffrent. In ways i wish they hadnt changed it.

It all follows a story line that has been writen at least since 1983 if not as far back as 75 as i said.

There are so many things to consider...for one thing given the time span with making a film and having to consider the schedules of all those involved, it's hard to keep the same team movie to movie. Usually if the first 2 movies in the series is a hit, they probably already had the most successful ensemble at that time. Then, what ends up happening is a change in cast and/or crew. My favorite example is the Batman movies: once Schumacher (don't hate my spelling) became director after the first 2, the movies were crap. Thankfully, Christopher Nolan rocked on Batman Begins...
