I have a business in the motorcycle industry, and I found a painting,drawing,picture,etc., that I want to use part of for my company logo.I was told that as long as I changed 1 or more things about the pic, (like deleting certain parts and adding something of my own) that it would not be infringing on the copyright. of the picture. Does anyone else know anything about this? Thank you all in advance for your help and assistance in this matter...

More than likely, this is not going to work. Have you considered trying to obtain permission to use the picture? That would be the easiest & legal way to go about it.
If you're simply using the picture as inspiration for your design and are NOT blatantly using basically the same image, you may be okay - emphasis on the word may. It really depends on what exactly you're doing.
Either way, I'd recommend talking to an intellectual property attorney about the best route to go from here. You're going to need to speak to someone that's versed in this type of law AND knows all the details of your situation.

Thats not very good advice, the best thing to do would be to create a whole new one "inspired" by the other picture ie only use the one major piece of the image that you like but redraw it personally. If the image still bears a resemblance to the original it could be construed as infringing on copyright. For example it is unlikely you could take the mickey mouse sillhouette image and just change the colour, size and proprtion of the image and not infringe the copyright

Copyright is flexible in regard to certain civil uses say parody, news, public interest, etc, however if you are using the copyright item for direct commercial use/ beenfit then you have to secure the permission of the copyright owner. Also ignorance of the law is not a valid or tenable excuse in the courts of law.

you have to change the image enough to make it an original .
