the movie took place in England and of course all the characters were English. I don't remember any of the actors being famous. At least not in the states. They were an up and comming group who performed in various clubs. They sang the blues. One of the songs I really remember is (I can't remember the name of the song) some of the lyrifcs are; "your no good heartbreaker-your a liar...your a cheat/ I ain't never.....no i aint never....loved a man.... the way the I love you!" I hope somebody out there can enlighten me! thanks much, Cheryl

You are talking about The Commitments (1991). It's a really great movie, with good music and is actually set in Ireland. It was directed by Alan Parker (Bugsy Malone, Evita, Midnight Express).

"The Commitments" was the movie I think.The band were also known as The Commitments..they were Irish and sang r'n'b,soul and blues..their version of "Mustang Sally" was pretty good....good flic.
