Aiken's Lodge in Kanab Utah.
It was over Thanksgiving and the rooms were only 35 bucks a night, but they were extremely large, extremely clean and very well furnished, it was the shoulder season in Kanab, but still I thought 35 bucks was an incredible deal.
I have stayed an worked at comparable hotels where the rates was still 70 or 80 bucks during the shoulder season.
I stayed there for a few days after a grueling backpacking trip in Paria Canyon in southern Utah, and it was sweet to be able to kick back, watch some Thanksgiving day football, sleep in a bed, wash up real good, etc. etc. etc. for only 35 bucks a night.
The place is really nice of just your standard motel, and I don't see why they think they should only charge 35 bucks a night.
The owners left while I was there to visit family, and they just told me to drop by the office if I was still there when they got back, or to just leave the money in the room for however many days I stayed.
I am definitely going back there this fall.
