Using dark polish a lot can do it - also smoking. Soak them in a little diluted bleach for just a very few minutes then rinse thoroughly - it should do the trick.
I can't email you back because its saying your email address hasn't been confirmed. Hope you find this here. If your scared of the bleach burning your skin (and I'm not going to lie to you that if you don't dilute it enough or leave your fingers in it too long it will), then try a little bowl of hydrogen peroxide. I PROMISE it will not burn your skin. Afterward use a good soap - just regular soap and if you have one - an old toothbrush. Clean your nails top and underneath. If that doesn't work write me back.

Brown or yellow? It could be a variety of things...heath issues, type of nail polish, sun damage, etc. For a quick fix, try mixing 2 parts baking soda with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to form a paste-like consistency. Then, apply this mixture to your nails. Let sit awhile, then rinse. If this doesn't help at all, you may want to consider seeing a physician.

If you use finger polish remover often then that might be the problem. It happened to me.I was painting and removing my polish like twice a week or more.(polish had to match the outfit ya know?? ....heh)....anyway,If you think this might be your problem just stop painting your nails for a while and they'll grow back normal. Wear fake nails if you just gotta have some color in the meantime.

have you used any stains lately, or hair dye, and some types of nail polish can stain them. And some fungus have been know to do this. if the nail, does not grow out, and change back to a normal color, talk to your doctor. This could be a sign of something wrong with your health. God Bless !!
