This is a good question. Both characters are great, and I WANT say Iron Man as he is my fav. Marvel character, but I think GL would have the edge to due to his overall abilities his ring grants him. He is limited only to his imagination, is NOT susceptible to the color yellow anymore, and the only true reason he'd fail is if his power ring's energy source were depleted somehow. Iron Man's power is great, but not inexhaustible, and I don't think he'd last as long in a battle as GL would. Reluctantly, I'd have to say Green Lantern due to the reasons stated.

Any Green Lantern would win. The Green Lanterns are an interstellar policing group. Each power ring is dictated by the imagination of the wearer. Ironman, or Tony Stark can create amazing weapons but he can't do it on the "fly" like a GL can.

You funny guy, leave question open to interpretation by lotsa dummies.
Iron Man (Tony Stark) changes armor as often as most people change underwear (except this one person I know... eeeew). So, let's have him in one of his most powerful inventions: the Hulk Buster armor. I'm not going to bring the Thor Buster armor into this, as it runs on magic which Stark was never comfortable with in the first place and the design never got past a working prototype that was destryoed in combat anyhow.
As for the bearer of the ring, who? Guy Gardner? Hell no. No matter how 'cool' or edgy he is he'll never be the epitome of a Green Lantern.
Kyle Rainer? Not experienced enough, not much of a strategist.
John Stewart? He's good, but he isn't really able to take it to the next level and pull out all the stops, unlike...
HAL JORDAN!!! Look, you can say he's gone back into 'hero' mode all you want, but this guy would crank the ring to 11 again if he felt it was necessary, Parralax or no Parralax. Especially since he's aware of how powerful he can become now.
So, Stark in Hulk Buster armor against Jordan with a full charge.
Jordan could end this quickly by crushing or stripping Stark of the armor before it can analyize and coutner the energy (if it were possible to do that with this armor).
Stark could end it just as quickly by somehow removing the ring from Jordan's hand, which shouldn't be too much of a problem with that armor.
If neither combatant is able to end the fight quickly, it will become a long, drawn-out horror show of energy blasts and mid-air choke holds. Massive punches, too.
People might think the ring's 24 hour recharge requirement would give Stark an edge, but not when Stark himself would most likely be exhausted way before that. Constant intense physical activity tends to do that.
Both have had problems in the past, but Stark's heart is at the - um - heart of the issue here. I do not think it would hold up under the strain of an extended battle with Green Lantern. I thnk it would give out. I think Tony Stark would die in his Hulk Buster armor, a golden and crimson casket, because no one would be able to get him out in time to save him.
Sayornara, Iron Corpse. See you in Marvel Zombies.

Iron Man
I mean don't get me wrong Green Lantern's cool and all but he has the world's stupidest weakness. Green Lantern's powers are nuetralized by the color yellow and Iron Man's armor is Red and Yellow so That's not even a real match up as oppose to Iron Man or Batman

Iron Man is the greatest super hero of all time.
Green Lantern is a tool.
As for your question: Iron Man. He has a armored suit and lasers, machine guns, rockets, etc. What the hell does Green Lantern do anyway? Isn't he the guy with that lame ring that projects illusions? Oooooooohh...big deal. Iron man would just hit him with a mini-nuke or something.

Depends on which Iron Man and which GL are fighting. because some Green Lantern's rings are inneffective against anything yellow, and some Iron Man armor is yellow.
