My husband and I plan to conceive our first child in 9 months.

I feel ready and I can't wait.

But, my stomach gets butterflies when I think about actually getting pregnant.

I get nervous thinking about it, but I am not changing my mind about starting a family since we are really excited about it.

We are emotionally and financially stable, so I am not worried about that.

Is it normal to feel this way?

Absolutely. When I found out I got pregnant (we hadn't planned it, though) I had more than just butterflies in my stomach! I felt downright unprepared to deal with pregnancy, let alone having a baby and raising one!

Every woman goes through it. It's the greatest physical change your body will go through, and something that will change the rest of your lives. Of course it's natural to be nervous. :o) Just try to relax, and instead, focus on how much you're excited about starting a family! It's fun! :o) good luck.

It is more than normal. Having a baby is something changes body, mind and soul: at first, you have a life growing inside of you; once it is born, you're in charge of lactating it every two seconds :p
Then you and your husband will be the ones that will guide him/her in his/her first words, first walks, first schooling, first exams, first experiences, first love... It is an incredibly big thing, and it's pretty normal, even necessary, that you feel a bit nervous about it all. In this case, enjoy you nervousness, and good luck with the baby!

Yup. It's not about the state of being, it's about the idea that you're going to be a parent. You will be responsible for this person's life for a long time. Every injury, every mistake, every little thing will become a worry. Even when you know something isn't your fault, it's your little one. But just remember that the opposite goes too: every victory, every accomplishment, and every smile is there because you're the parent. Just keep thinking of the first time you see a smile, the first time your little one calls you mommy, the first kiss, and the first "I love you." It always eased off my nervousness. Now I'm just waiting for the "I love you."

I imagine so ... or hope so, at least! My partner and I are a few years away yet, and I'm already nervous about it! Being nervous, or getting butterflies in your stomach, doesn't mean you don't want to have kids - it's a bit commitment and a life-changing event. So it's okay. I think so anyway.

Have fun trying to conceive! ;o)

It is very normal. I was even nervous when I was pregnant with my second child. If you really truelly want to have a child you will be fine. It is also normal to be nervous at different times in your pregnancy especially toward the end. Good luck to you.

Yup, all new mum's-to-be tend to feel nervous. Yours possibly due to the fact that you can't wait to get pregnant. Be patient and have happy thoughts. Over-anxiety will lead to stress. So relax and enjoy lovemaking.

I'm sure it is! I know several people who were like that. When they had their baby, they were great parents and were completely ready. Good Luck! I hope this helped!! :)
