Too subjective of a question, and too many people answer with their favorite band. Unless someone has actually heard EVERY rock band ever, they can't honestly answer the question.

Absolutely Led Zeppelin there is no question about that. And I'm not just saying this simply because theyre my favorite band or based on the LZIV (Untitled) album. Led Zeppelin is an all around wonderful band that was consistantly good throughout their 12 year career and yet could manipulate many different styles and sounds of music and turn it into pure gold. Nothing has been nor ever will ever be as amazing as what Led Zeppelin created.
