Googling name on the net, is often a way to investigate someone. Secrets is always something that one would like to know and what is better than discovering some secret of your friends from the internet. A good example was from the Movie Hitch where he searched for information on the girls history. This way you will know someone better. This is just if your intention is good. The thrill is when you found out that your gf has a special secret over a blog, or someone knows something about her that you don't. Also some may find lost friend by doing this.

there are a couple reasons: 1) If you find yourself you get to feel like your a little bit famous since there are web pages that clearly feature you, 2) if you find other people with your name you can laugh at how nerdy they are and feel better about your station in life or be uplifted by their accomplishments and feel somehow that you own them too.
