A cloud is a visible mass of condensed droplets or frozen crystals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or another planetary body. The branch of meteorology in which clouds are studied is nephology.
On Earth, the condensing substance is water vapor, which forms small droplets of water (typically 0.01 mm of ice crystals) that, when surrounded with billions of other droplets or crystals, are visible as clouds.

Cloud droplets tend to scatter light very efficiently, so that the intensity of the solar radiation decreases with depth into the cloud, hence the grey or even sometimes dark appearance of the clouds at their base. Thin clouds may appear to have acquired the color of their environment or background, and clouds illuminated by non-white light, such as during sunrise or sunset, may be colored accordingly. In the near-infrared range, however, clouds would appear very dark because the water that constitutes the cloud droplets strongly absorb solar radiation at these wavelengths.

The color of clouds comes from the sun. Clouds can be tinted any color of the rainbow, cuz that is what happens when sunlight meets droplets of water. Each droplet lets some light go through, and bends some other light into a rainbow. So, if enough light goes through, we can see white clouds, and if the light is at the right angle to us, we see rainbows. If there are too many droplets, too much light has been refracted by the droplets and there are too many shadows. The cloud gets darker and darker.
;-D Don't forget your umbrella when you see dark clouds. It might rain!

All clouds are made up of water. The color of the cloud is similar to the effect when water is bubbling (with a lot of small bubbles) or not.
White ones are white because they have less water. Meaning more air. like bubbly water. Light is then easily reflected from the cloud.
Dark clouds have lots of water, less air, less light being reflected, more being absorbed. So darker clouds form.

dark clouds are dark because of dirt and pollution white clouds are white because they are mostly just clean water vapor like fog all clouds are made of water vapor plain old water when pollutants mix in the water the clouds change color usually it is dust and carbon dioxide the carbon is naturally black in color so the clouds look gray

It's like this, when you have lots of something it looks darker. Like if you draw for a long time on a piece of paper with crayon. If you draw lighter, it comes out lighter. That's pretty much what happens with clouds. When they are heavier with water, they are darker, when they are lighter with water, they are lighter. The kinds of formations you find will determine whether it is cooler or warmer where you see clouds.

These are cirrostratus clouds.
They are transparent/white . They do not obscure the sun/moon and the presence of ice crystals in the cloud refract light to create haloes around the sun n moon. Ice crystals make them appear white.
