Yes 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' is a typical Karan Johar movie.

Karan Johar is a great guy who has figured out the keys to the vault. Good going mate. People like him do well in any profession.
As a film maker, he is an absolute disappointment. There is no value, objective or take away in his movies. Although sucessful in material sense, he is insecure to take any detour with his themes or crew. He is happy to serve trash as long as there are takers.
Wake up friend. Have courage to make some real movies. Movies which would register in the real sense.
Good luck

I feel that karan johar is the only director who is able to bring out the indian family values and culture beautifully. I am not a big fan of Karan and SRK, but whenever I see their films, I tend to feel that how true it is and most of my friends here in UK (foreigners), they seem to love it. If SRK and Karan are only good for these kind movies then let it be cause SRK is the only actor in Bollywood who can carry a romantic and emotional character to perfection and first class. Remember SRK has done Paheli and Swades, both in India and about India, so once in a while taking part in a movie which is about NRI's in abroad does not mean they have forgotten about India and only focusing on NRI's for good opening.....NRI's are also a part of India, therefore no harm done in telling their stories to people all around the world. Hope I made my point clear.......and waiting eagaerly for KANK.

thank god somebody asked this, karan johar is a ****, he couldnt make a movie even if he had a budget of $100mil.
he makes the same old stupid films that he has always made, with usual dum star s khan. who couldnt act to save his life. both are actually made for each because both can only do one thing and thats love stories or as someone said trianlge love stories or in this case square love story!!!.
his movies always start with a rich kid, who is so rich that he could buy a the whole of India if he wanted too, this then covers everything in the movie from designer clothes to cars, to flying around everywhere in the world.
this sort of cinema should be banned every director should be rationed by giving them two love films to make in a career then make something else .
i hope he fails and fails badly. and that dummy too shah ruk khan the only he has done which even slightly resembles real life in India is Swades and even that he was Thrid choice for the part the bit nobody knows off infact, amir was first choice then the Roshan kid then him!!.

unfortunaly people will go and see this crap which as one person wrote is totally made for the uk and us market he couldnt care less about india. his last stupid film kabhi kushi.... made $10million dollars plus so do you think he really cares about us lot here NO! wake up India and send this movie maker to hollywood. we only need people like Rakesh Omprakash Mehra "Rang", Sanjay Leela Bhansali( Black) and Vishal Bharadwaj (Omkara)

Get karan to do one of these movies and he'll be a lost boy. and god help us if mr. s r khan does one these roles good God he'll lost too. and dont say devdas it would disgrace mr kumar.

GEM 1 believe me nri's dont live in the KARAN JOHAR IDIOT WORLD!!!

god!!! here we have another one of those again!!!....Karan Johar being the extremely sesitive soul that he is, touching on sesitive matters prevailing in society!!!.....Cmon people in todays world people are not crazy to get into a marriage where they dont love each other or marry for conveinence and if they do this also...mr.johar movies have shown over the time how conveinent it is to replace your partner....
think about it...from kuch kuch hota hai to now kabhi alvida naa kehnaa....
put some designer clothes on rope in some big stars and shoot in hep and hapenning locations and youve got a karan johar movie.......
Throw in some indian sanskar (kyuki types) put in one disco song and some emotional tracks and an excessively emotional scenes which makes the aunties cry and TADaaaaa!!!!

This guy is able to make movies solely cos hes in India and he has srk in all his movies ask him to make one flick without srk and move to a plot outside love stories and then you will see exactly how stupid this guy is!!!

Yes I am totally agree with this..This will be the same old ghisapita story made in some Fantasy Land. You hardly relate those stories with you. In stead of spending 50-60 crores on a movie,10 real good movies can be made out of that money.Directors of the movies like Iqbal,Page3,Omkara are the very very praiseworthy. As they have courage to create something new and sell the same the indian audience. People should say enough to these movies where there is nothing really to cherish.

I agree with most of you...it is a typical johar movie...nice clothes, locales, and too many tears...uff! If the trailor has so much tear jerking, then imagine what the movie would be like. Despite all of this, like any other movie buff in India, I am going to try and watch the movie on the first day due to the "heavy" star cast. That's how we are!!!

Yes u can say that KANK is another KJ style movie. The movie has every thing what we can expect, like glamrous and designer dresses, super stars, overseas locations and fabulous songs.
But we must know this thing also that while making a movie a producer and director must keep in view the entire population. Not only kids, youths, old aged peoples have been counted. They move with all of them, keeping in view every ones tastes and views.Till now more than 60% of our country's population marks their views by their hearts not by brains. So a heart touching story having a modern outlook was required, so we have extra marital affair. More, the people residing in our country including peoples like those who do small jobs to fulfill their needs wants to see their super stars in new clothes, new story etc. these peoples forms more than 50% of the audience.
So keeping in view all these aspects KJ is here with anothyer movi with family drama, emotions, fun, music,AMITABH & ABHISHEK dancing etc but it may give u a good message so go forward and watch it as an enlightened audience and then frame your views. Till then just enjoy and stay cool.

Yes it's ought to be as it is a Johar movie:-)
Though Karan is claiming that he is trying something different (dont all directors claim the same about their movies), I see it as a normal Johar movie with lots of emotions and lots of scenes with NRI tinge to pull in crowds in US/UK/Australia. The movie is supposed to be inspired by Silsila and is a story of failed marriages and extra marital affairs. Expect a record-breaking opening and people going ga-ga over the emotions.
