well with elves in the world it would be a far better place, so i think it would be less

Seems like the more unique or interesting, or different, the more "racism" or persecution is directed toward the group/individual...

...That's my best answer for now. I am actually happy elves, hobbits, and mermaids (etc) remain a fastasy... Keeps them innocent.

what do you mean IF they existed. I think the reason they don't show themselves to humans is because they have been treated like crap by humans in the distant past. We treat everything else and ourselves bad, why would most humans treat them any different or want to learn from them? By the way you forgot about the Dragons.

They do exist, but they only reveal themselves to the really intelligent, that way, they can be assured they won't be discriminated against.

There would be less racism and MUCH more speci-ism. All the species would probably constantly hate and fight eachother.
