Being careful not to burn yourself, run the lid of the bottle under the hot water from the sink for about three minutes. Dry it off with a towel and, if the top is still warm, use the towel to turn the top so it opens. Don't spill.

You can try holding the cap under running hot water -- keep it there for about a minute, and then try -- the heat should expand the cap ever so slightly and make it easier to open.
To get a better grip, use a papertowel.

Mechanical agitation. Bang it -- hard -- against something (the lid that is).
You could put a rubber band on the lid for extra grip also.
Have you learned a lesson yet? lol
