Bangaram is a very nice place to visit, one of the best beaches of the World. Besides, Minicoy, Kavaratti, Agatti, Kelpeni and Kadmat islands are other options in Lakshadweep -awesome beauty.
For regular connections to Lakshadweep islands, you would be required to reach Cochin/Kochi/Ernakulam (one city known by three different names) first from Pune - either by rail or air.
Options to reach Lakshadweep islands, stay and move around in between the islands are limited, and by my own experience, I suggest that you start your journey plans by first approaching the SPORTS - a Lakshadweep Government Tourism Office based at Willingdon Island, Indira Gandhi Road, Cochin, Tele. 0484 2668387 and 2666789; website www.lakshadweeptourism.com
The website is very informative and updated regularly and can give you many important feedback, an initial virtual journey, and a lot of material to plan and take up the journey.
SPORTS arrange for journey by ships to various islands individually and package tours for 1 to 3 islands which are very good and they take personal care all through the journey. Alternatively, you can fly to Agatti (only airport in Lakshadweep) from Cochin and then go to different islands by large motorboats/ships or helicopter. For stay, besides SPORTS, two private resorts, one in Agatti and one in Bangaram, have stay arrangements and local hotels etc are not good in number and facilities, could lead to difficulties. Further, everyone visiting to Lakshadweep Islands on personal visits (not on official Government duties) require a permit from the Administrator of the Island, which though not difficult but procedural. If you travel with SPORTS or these two private resorts, they arrange such permits without any extra costs and efforts on your part.
The addresses of Agatti Island Beach Resort is 57/3693, 1st Floor, Mano Geeth, Behind GPO, Market Road, Cochin, Tele 0484 2362232, email: aiber@md4.vsnl.net.in, website www.lakshadweepislands.com
AND that of
Bangaram Island Resort is CGH Earth, Willigdon Island, Cochin, Tele: 0484 2668421 and 2668221, email casino@vsnl.com, website: www.casinogroup.com
Well plan your journey for maximum enjoyment and have a very good time.
P.S. If you choose to go to Minicoy Island, do visit the Light House there, one of the oldest and highest, climb right till the top of the light house for ariel view of the Island and surrounding beauty. Climbing to the top of the Light House can be arranged by SPORTS and others, don't miss it.

To go to Lakshadweep, you have to go to Kochin. From Kochin you have to go by ship. The ship services are organised by Shipping Corporation of India. It takes about 24 hours to reach Lakshadweep from Kochin. Best of luck.
