I critically read everything I read. I assume that when a question is very long it could have more details that I need to appropriately answer it. Reading requires concentration and focusing to understand what the question is. If after I read it all, and it makes no sense, I just click back to see more questions. There's too many choices to waste my time on incomplete thoughts. However, I've found many questions with long details that needed those details to describe what the question really is.

Too long. I do skip a question if the answers or the question are too long and I don't feel like reading them all. I described this to a friend who sends out long emails as "skimming". If it doesn't grab me then I may pass.

If I encounter a question that is long, I take the time to read it. It's the same with long emails. I don't mind listening and reading what people have to say, no matter how much time it may take.

Seems though you just created one since as many answers as you got just made it into a really long answer section and the real question is :
Are you going to be lazy and not read all the answers?
or
Are you going to just skip all the answers and not read any of them?
And for my answer:
I would read long questions as long as I could give an answer for the question and as long as the question was not dumb, stupid, idiotic, or otherwise just plain dumb.

I read the question - and at times it needs to be longer with details in order to answer it well enough to help the asker. (Sometimes my answers are long as well, as there may be a lot to say in order to answer it the best way). Don't pass up questions just because they are long - patience is a virtue, and you could be helping someone the most with your response!

I'm guilty of the same! I want the Readers Digest version, you know, short sweet and to the point. Some people just never shut up!

when i see REALLY LONG questions, i read the first few lines, if its got potential, i'd be patient to read along! but once the writer losts me, then i'm gone! when i receive personal emails, i read em all, not matter how long, unless i have not time at the moment!

If the first part of a question catches my attention then Ill read the whole thing. If it doesn't then I usually depart the question of some thing else.
