Do'nt tell me i did'nt warn u!
A woman was working in a post office in California.
One day she licked the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a sponge. That very day the lady found a cut on her tongue. A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue. She went to the doctor, and they found nothing wrong. Her tongue was not sore or anything. A couple of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and it began to get really sore, so sore, that she could not eat. She went back to the hospital, and demanded something be done. The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump. He prepared her for minor surgery. When the doctor cut her tongue open, a live cockroach crawled out!!!!

There were cockroach eggs on the seal of the envelope. The egg was able to hatch inside of her tongue, because of her saliva. It was warm and moist...

Sorry, no, glad to inform you that it truly is a myth.

Anytime I get off beat stories in email I go to urban hoaxes and myths to check them out.

This one can be found at http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/tacobell.asp

scroll down to find the mention of the post office.

hope this takes away that bad taste in your mouth.!!!!

Go to Snopes.com. the url is listed below. Use keywords 'tongue and cockroach' in the search box.
This is a false urban legend. The same myth is around where McDonalds or Taco Bell caused the same problem in someone as well as this licked the envelope version.

it's just an urban legend...at the first place, cockroach eggs are in a big hard shell and it will not be able to fit into a small thin flesh cut.... cockroach lay plenty of eggs and they all stuck together in the shell and it's just not possible for one egg to be exposed unless the whole shell was broken....

EEEEEWWWWW!!!! That is scary and very gross. I heard a similar story about a spider laid eggs in a woman's head and when they cut it open the Doc cut it open they all came crawling out of the hole. YULK!! I know these are not true but interesting just the same.

Source? I agree, Urban Legend....unless I see an article in a science journal of some type (which would never happen since I barely know how to read, much less scientific stuff)

I really doubt this story, especially the saliva bit. Saliva is an acid which starts the break down of food. thats why grannys use it to clean kids faces.

That sounds like an urban legend to me. You might want to check your source on that.
