Not just acquaintances , but actual friends. My answer is two or three at the most. I am curious about other's experiences.

I have made about four friends online.
One is an ex I met online that I am still friends with, one is my current boyfriend that I consider my best friend, one I met to date but it turned out that we were really only going to be friends.. and have been for about 4 years now, and another I met on yahoo games, and chatted with for about a year, then my cousin started chatting with him and now he has come half way across the country to be with her :) .. so we are good friends. and the others I just consider "Chat Friends:" because though I keep in contact with them, I have never met them in person , nor do I intend to. I think that sometimes you can make great friends online, but also I think that we should really think about who we call "friends" I think you can have a chat friend... that isnt necessarily a "true friend" however they could become that in the right situation.

5 lasting still talking to real friends... three of whom are close enough to send gifts to on special occasions.

umm...none really. most of the people i met were either really wierd and freaked me out or very annoying. :(
