In Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has a far different vision. As mayor of Tehran in 2004, he spent millions on improvements to make the city more welcoming for the return of a Muslim messiah known as the Mahdi, according to a recent report by the American Foreign Policy Center, a nonpartisan think tank.

To the majority of Shiites, the Mahdi was the last of the prophet Muhammad's true heirs, his 12 righteous descendants chosen by God to lead the faithful.

Ahmadinejad hopes to welcome the Mahdi to Tehran within two years.

Conversely, some Jewish groups in Jerusalem hope to clear the path for their own messiah by rebuilding a temple on a site now occupied by one of Islam's holiest shrines.

Artisans have re-created priestly robes of white linen, gem-studded breastplates, silver trumpets and solid-gold menorahs to be used in the Holy Temple — along with two 6½-ton marble cornerstones for the building's foundation.

Ahmadinejad is a strong believer of his Islamic Messiah or Prophet's coming to Tehran. This will provide him the excuse for the extermination of the Zionist state to advance Iran's agenda for a nuclear weapon. So far, his Messiah has not made any appearance or revelation?

Judaism's Messiah has to be a descendant of the legendary King David or King Soloman. His comming will be to a temple in Jerusalem. There is no mention of the extermination of another human ethnic goup or race, or is there a need for it?

The Christians have their Messiah in Jesus also. It will be judgement day then: the righteous will be salvaged and the evil will be punished. The exact day of his His coming is still elusive.

The Buddhists have their Messiah by the name Maitreya Buddha. He is considered the saviour for the calamities on our earth.

In my recent dream, a Messiah appeared and referred
to some of our myths. He had come into my dream intentionally and asked if I knew what a Messiah was and if I knew of his previous appearances, as he knew me as an agnostic without any idea about Messiah.

After a brief explantion and silence, He asked whether there was a need to wait for His coming from one generation to the next. Expecting a no answer, He said divinations and religions are of different realms and will never say much on the true revelations.

His coming is about making the the world a better place with greater peace and love; wars have never been a correct approach for resolving conflicts as they breed cycles of violence and bloodhsed. Divinations and religions provide diversity in our world with many people, and how we live our lives already said very much of our behavior by the over emphasis on territories, religious difference, and domination for power . With these words, he dissapeared swiftly as he came, without giving a chance for my response.

Now back on Ahmedinejad's vision. How can there be any doom day with the domination over other ethnic groups in this wide world by his Prophet for any single ethnic group? He still thinks that Ayatollah Khoimeiny, the founder of the Shiite version of Islam, has given him the followers in Hezbollah, and also the nuclear capabilities for the cleansing the Zionist. He must be day-dreaming and staring at a mirror in his bedroom!

who told you that Jewish groups were readying for the end of the world? There has to be a Messiah first and he isn't around. Even if he appears this does not mean the world's end. Every religious group seems to have its own theories about the end of the world ,but I won't get into it now. There will probably be a showdown between the USA/Israel and Iran/Syria some day but who knows when? People have been fighting with one another for centuries, so why should it be different now? If it isn't specifically for religion then it is for land.

Just because middle east figures are delusional doesn't mean that it is the end of the world.

Maybe it's the end of US influence, or the end of the almighty petrodollar, but it certainly isn't the end of the world.
