My answer is to get old video game emulators.
You can find the emulators at numerous websites, but try theoldcomputer.com or cpujunky.com. Those sites provide good emulators and ROMs to use with them. However, a word of advice, these are technically illegal, due to copyright laws and the fact that you're downloading them without permission from the original companies, so in that case,you should only keep any ROM on your computer for 24 hours, or just don't download them.
Other than that, a good freeware game is GLTron, and any Tetris clone is always fun. In fact, no. GLTron is the BEST freeware game on Earth.
