I have trued this a few tims, it doesnt always work that night but usually if I dont dream about it that night I will within the nxt few night...figure out what you want to dream about...then condense it into a simple phrase and form a mental picture with it, then when you are falling asleep focus on saying the phrase while thinking about the pic in your head, if you trail off say it out loud but softly so you keep focused, as you get sleepier keep thiinkg it, if you doze and wake up briefly keep focusing on it , not obsessing or worrying about it mind you just thinking about it I usually find I will dream about it that night...good luck, however no guarentee that you will dream exactly what you want (just because you keep thinking you want to know if someone likes you, the dream may be about them but totally different circumstances)

Dreaming has to do with the subconscious. Usually dreams can be a collage of past memories or even things you've never experienced before. I've found that the things I think less about are the things I dream about. But that's a wishy-washy theory...
Now people that dream lucidly and can control their dreams, (which takes much practice and time), can control what they do, see, feel, etc. Read up on controlling your dreams; there are methods that have been used successfully.

Some people can, and work with their dreams in many ways including consciously entering places or themes. Its part of what is called lucid dreaming and there are many books about it. It helps to start by keeping dream journals and becoming more and more conscious of your dreams and then going into them more consciously. You get better at it with time and persistence. Setting an intention of a "certain thing" you want to dream about before you go to sleep, and saying it out loud, repeating it, drawing it, etc can help the unconscious begin to focus on it. Try it and see what happens

The dream process seems to be a very personal thing. Some people are able to control their dreams more than others. I know I can control mine once I'm in the dream, but I've never made myself dream a particular thing. I know some people can do that, but I think it's one of those things that either you can do or you can't. I don't believe it's a learned behavior.

The only time I have ever controlled my dreams is when I wake from a nightmare and then I force myself to redream it with a better outcome. The key word is force, its very focused, but half asleep. I would say keep practicing and you will get it.

Thinking of the thing you want to dream of should work, but why don't I ever dream of my girlfriend then?
I'm often self aware in my dreams, so I can influence them greatly, but don't have a control over the events.

I've heard that with lucid dreaming you could repeat what you want to dream about over and over a few times when you lay down. You keep doing it every night until it happens. Haven't tried it though.

i recently read an article where you can control your dreams and it starts with an exercise where you study your hand every night before bed, then after a few days you see your hand in your dream.
weird thing about me, if i just go to bed thinking of a scenerio in my head, i'll end up carrying it out in a dream.. after all your dreams are just your imagination in an unconcious state

I think if you go to sleep thinking of the same thing over and over and over that you can control what you dream about-that works for me but I cannot explain it.
