I usually have a pretty normal period, but last week, I had a really light period. I really didn't have to wear a pad. That never happens to me. I took a pregnancy test, but it came out negative. I am also on birth control pills. I missed a few pills and my husband and I have been having sex quite often. Do you think I'm pregnant? Should I stop taking the pills until I find out? I would hate to be hurting the baby if I am pregnant, but I also don't want to stop taking the pills and get pregnant. PLEASE HELP.

Take another pregnancy test at the doctor's office, they are much more accurate. While the light period could be due to pregnancy, I wouldn't worry to much, because I sometimes have light periods too, and I'm on birth control. My periods have actually become lighter and more regulated as a result of the pills. If you're fairly new to birth control this could just very well be how your body is reacting to them. Every woman is different in this regard, so try not to worry too much.

did you end up taking the missed pills all at once? i did that before and the same thing happened. but here's what my doc said, he said if i got my period on the week I was supposed to, no matter how heavy/light, in all likelyhood I was not pregnant. Like when you are on the sugar pills (28 pack) or on you week off (21 pack). But to be safe, and to put your mind to rest, go get a test at the doctors. A blood test. And try not to miss any more pills. And always have a back-up method handy!!!!

This is funny that you should ask this, I'm in the same situation but I'm not using the pill. I figured I'd go to CVS this morning and find out for sure, but you never really know tell you get tested so hurry up and take a test. Then go back on you regular pill cycle. I'm conerned because it's not a planned pregnancy and I'm starting school in a week.

Depending upon the type of pills you take most will not affect your babies health during early pregnancy. You should probably take another test to make sure. You may also want to think about a different type of contraceptive considering you forget your pill a decent amount.
