I recently short-circuited my new CPU while trying to link a cable to a share-box with another CPU. I have no back-up for the stuff in my new CPU and I'm worried if the files are lost for good. Does anyone have any idea if my stuff are retrievable although the CPU has been shot, probably to Hades?

Any help rendered is appreciated c",)

Thanks a lot..

The data should be fine, since it's stored on the hard drive, NOT the CPU... so as long as that didn't get fried as well you can just slot in a new motherboard & Processor, and it should go again.... will also work if you connect the hard drive up to any computer, not just you're own.

You are looking at a new motherboard, RAM and CPU.

Hard drive is not effected! Graphic card may or may not be effected.

Always turn power off and disconnect power cable FIRST.

Your lesson has turned out to be very expensive for a short cut!

Your data should be on the hard disk drive. Get that checked, if your hdd is intact all you need is to change your CPU/motherboard. Call a qualified hardware engineer to do it.
