You could, however, go to the tax sales put on by the different counties and bid on property where the owners haven't paid their property taxes. These sales happen usually twice a year in each county, and it's about time for the next round of sales. Contact the county courthouse to find out when the tax sale is for your county.

Once you purchase property at a tax sale, at auction, the owners have a year to redeem the property by paying you the back taxes, as well as additional fees. If they don't pay you back, you get to keep the property.
