I just changed my ink cartridge, but the text is printing patchy, with blank areas forming horizontal bands.?

Fresh black cartridge, printing just black, and I already used the printer's "clean nozzles" feature and did the alignmnent. Help!

i dont know if its gonna work for you but i use HP. use to put the cartridge in a wet tissue paper or a clean cloth then leave it for few minutes. then i'll look at the left over ink on the wet cloth in a whole form, i mean no white bands just whole black then presto just need a little printer clean nozzles and test page then its all done
