i gave birth to my son 4 weeks ago. he was stillborn. i did the normal bleeding for 2 weeks afterwards but that is not considered a period. how long should i wait until my 1st cycle comes. im afraid i won't get one cause there is a chance of conception. does it come within the normal 1 month or does it take longer?

I am very sorry to hear that. After you bleed for a couple of weeks after giving birth, you will start your normal cycle usually i month after that.

I am so sorry for your loss...make sure that you have PLENTY of support from your family and friends. That is the best thing for you right now.

Returning to your "normal" cycle depends on a lot of things, as I am finding out (I delivered my son 6 weeks ago). What I am finding to be the "norm" for people to have their periods is 4-8 weeks after delivery. Some are sooner because they have bottle-fed their babies. Usually exclusively breast-fed babies' mothers don't have a period for a longer time fram after delivery.

Stress is a contributor to making your period late, so try to relax. I know it's easier said than done. And best of luck if you're trying to have another child!

I'm truley sorry for your lose my aunt's friend just had the same thing happen the cord got tied around the neck twice...... I'd say since the hormone levels are already dropping it's should go back to monthly cycles, but your doctor should be able to give you a better answer.........Wait til you've morned a little before you tri again so your "heart" is healthy again

I am SO very sorry for your loss.

Personally, I didn't have my period for three months after my pregnancy... but, of course, I was breastfeeding, and my understanding is that THAT can delay the menstrual cycle from starting up again.

Give your body at least two months to stabilize... if you haven't started by then, it might be a good idea to set up an appt. with your OBGYN/doctor.

Best of luck to you....

Hi lol
I am sorry..
don't worry about that,
matter of your normal period depends upon some things
1_%age of fat in your body(25% at least)
2_case of your ovary
3_your age
4_your psychology
5_your general health
You can consult an obstetrician.
but ,as you don't feed a baby,it will return 2-3 months
after birth
good luck..lol
