David Ortiz or Pujols or Bonds or whoever gets up there, and they're trying to intentionally walk him, and on 3-0 he intentionally takes a swing to give up a strike. Anyone ever seen this? That would be hilarious. I know there was one play not too long ago, don't know by who because my friend just mentioned it, where a guy actually swung at what was supposed to be an intentional pitch out and he got a hit out of it.

Pitcher attempts to walk Rice who swings feinly at the 4th ball twice to bring the count full before the pitcher threw the ball about 6' outside on the last one. After the game Rice admitted that he was trying to annoy the pitcher and get him to challenge him.

Miguel Cabrera did it like a month or 2 ago. I thought it was hilarious when I first saw it. Hey why not, the pitcher made a mistake and payed for it. Cabrera ended up driving in the winning run!

A couple weeks ago, Ronny Paulino of the Pirates got a single when he swung at an intentional ball. That may be the play your friend saw.

yea Miguel Carbrera did that and so did Joe Dimagio during his 56 game hit streak against the PIrates who were not going to let him continue it, they walked him 3 times before that - - - and nobody has swung at a pitchout blindly just to get a strike in the count that would be stupid
