Any pain, anywhere at anytime can be normal during pregnancy. I 've been through it four times, and hip pain was bad, esp. at night, because you are told to sleep on your left side. Get a body pillow, try some Tylenol at bedtime and try to remember, this too shall pass. The farther along you get, you'll notice the hip pain getting worse, because the bones in your pelvis will begin to widen, to prepare you for giving birth. This may sound a little overwhelming, but it is soooooooooo worth it! Good Luck!

Yes it is VERY normal. Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees, closer to the thigh area.
