i was dialed 3cm for about three weeks with my second child. with my first for at least a month. outside of medical intervention, that baby won't come out until he is good and ready. don't try the old wives tales some of them could harm your baby. although walking and sex have been heard of working ,as long as your doctor approves.

That's an old wives tale!!! It won't help you at all. What will help you the most is to just relax and forget about it. Go for a walk (30 minutes) several times a day. The walking will help you more than anything else. Also, I strongly suggest that you eat frequently in small amounts and drink plenty of water. When you start having contractions (you'll know when!) get something to eat BEFORE you go to the hospital. Once you're there, they won't let you eat or drink ANYTHING, including water.

It isn't really safe to use castor oil. Not unless you are really, really constipated because you will be spending most of the next 24 hours on the toilet! Try walking, I know it sounds rather simple but it actually helps. Gravity has it's way of doing things. Walking is safe unless the doctor has put you on any kind of restrictions that you shouldn't be doing it. Good Luck!

I've heard 2 teaspoons, but castor oil will give you the runs (it goes off the basis that having diarreha will cause labor) and could cause your baby to become ill. That also means that if it doesn't work you will have a sick baby, meconium in your amniotic fluid, and won't be in labor.
I had meconium in my amniotic fluid with my first son just because he was overdue and I didn't get to see him when he was born. Before he could even start crying he was carried out of the room. He didn't get a chance to move at all before the umbilical cord was cut and he was out of my sight. You don't wanna go through that. Don't get me wrong... he has quick medical care and in five minutes he was in my arms and perfectly fine, but I still don't ever want to go through that again.

Don't know who told you to use castor oil and orange juice. That is just crazy. Geez. Talk to your doctor! Full term is 40 weeks, why would you want the baby to come early? God help me, I know this sounds judgemental, but I hope you are putting the baby up for adoption. You do not seem to have the sense or maturity to bear a child. Get things kicking? WTF?

It is not safe to uswe castor oil. Only your doctor should EVER induce labor. Trying to do so yourself can harm/kill your baby!!
