I'm always able to sit in one place doing nothing for a while, and whenever I'm at like a family reunion or a gathering where I speak to a lot of people I don't know or whatever, I'm always able to just smile and I actually enjoy just walking around meeting everybody and sitting down and just listening to people talk. Everybody is always like, "Well, you look like you're having fun, I bet you're mad at your mom for making you come here, blahblahblah..." But I'm really not. No one ever believes me when I tell them I like it. I don't know how much this has to do with being bored, but it's what I've come to know that many people don't like to do this and find it really really boring. Anyway, what I'm trying to ask is do you have a high tolerance for being bored?

I suppose. One of two things happen when I get bored, and it depends on how many people are around, my mood etc. I can get very hyper and manic and lose some more of my lack of inhibitions but I can also become absolutely introverted and get lost in thought. The quiter one can be a problem because I get a look on my face that looks very mean and pissed so then people have to bug me. The loud one is a problem because I end up saying/doing something wrong and regret it for a long time.

Fine with me; especially when I'm in a gathering where I know only a few guests. I like observing what other guests are doing in a gathering and sometimes I listen to loud conversations especially when it's funny. When I'm alone at home though, I must be listening to some music or I won't be able to stay in one position for a long period of time.

You sound like the kind of person most people should try to be. Attentive, polite, and genuine. You're just a good listener, and probably very comfortable with yourself. Most people aren't like that. It's an internal thing saying "go go go", and "what's next". I like being quiet sometimes, and listening. I can enjoy being alone. Tell those other people that you're fine, you're just listening to what people have to say.

I guess I have a high tolerance for being bored. I don't always have to have something to "do". I'm happy just sitting quietly deep in my own thoughts, I guess my brain can entertain itself. Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy it. It's just harder for people who rely on external stimulation to understand it. We're all different, just reassure them that your not bored, just thinking. Or people watching, whatever the case may be.

I have no boredom tolerance :( I get really frustrated and just want to leave the situation. It happens in classes a lot, I leave and just walk outside from some air or something. You're lucky if you don't mind being in all dofferent situations!

No way. I always need to be doing something. If I can't find something to do, then I'll make an excuse to go drive around for awhile, or I'll take a nap. And when I go drive around, I'll probably go to Super Target. One of my favorite places in the world.

being bored too long or too much could be bad on your health. As for tolorance, some people are happy doing things that bore other people so i guess it's how you think about it.

its good to have time for it. but high tolerance for boredom means u get quite idle..quite often... so see for yourself. I like to relax and do the same in conversations sometimes, but its not permanent
