i don't know you have a very poor perception of English people, i love Asian people my best friend is from Bangladesh and i am a white Englishman we are not all boring lager drinking bigots who miss treat women and i feel i have to answer because of your perception of us. as i said i am white English professional person i work hard during the week i like to have a drink of a weekend but not to many. l love to talk and i love karaoke i sing in my local pub, where people come from miles around to have ago. we even have a twice yearly competition. i don't know what sort of English men you have been exposed to but you must move around in a pretty boring group of English men perhaps you should move up north away from the bowler hat brigade and wine bars. I'm sorry for your low opinion of us you must have met some pretty sad examples of what it is to be an Englishman. A book should never be read by its cover. For a quite obviously intelligent and may i say good looking lady! you have got to open your mind a bit more and stop stereotyping all English men.

They do but the further away from people they know the better especially if they have a bad singing voice, you see any Englishman abroad an can't get that mike out of his hand once he gets singing.

I would love to sing with you, Satomi, if your voice is as beautiful as you are! I guess we think of Karaoke as not being very sophisticated, and after you've heard one drunk, tone-deaf bad singer ruin a song, it puts you off hearing any more... I sing, and play guitar, for myself and any gathering of friends and family, suchas birthday-parties and barbeques. Again, I think there's more to having to play the music and sing - I sing better when I'm playing, I can control the tempo and the emphasis. I see you like the Eagles, I love to play and sing their songs.
Please reply to me personally, if you like.

english people are worried about making a fool of themselves - sometimes reputation is all they have and they like to be 'cool' and have lots of people like them.
im not particularly typical 'english' but a lot of my friends have mentioned not saying anything or being scared to say stuff in case everyone thought they were stupid.
a lot of british and western children spend their time trying to 'behave' like adults (which is funny as most adults behave worse than kids) so they are sometimes unable to suspend 'belief' and have fun when they grow up bcos they think its childish maybe.
i dont go to karaokes bcos i cant sing though ;o)

One must remember tipping point is blood alcohol. It and decorum march in opposite direction, so encourage sake or beer consumption first.
A few rounds and you'll all be off to the races.
