There's two main theories:

a) Chewing raises the heart beat, which causes more oxygen and nutrients to be pumped into the brain.

b) Chewing gum triggers the production of insulin, a hormone which stimulates a part of the brain involved in memory.

Personally, I am still a bit skeptical -- for a few reasons:

a) A good portion of the research is financed by candy companies.

b) The studies I've seen have tended to have had small sample sizes. When the sizes of the groups studied are too small, the data produced is rarely useful or conclusive.

By using energy in the blood, it would increase heart rate. Memory related to the blood supply on the brain..

I don't think so. it increases the acid in your stomach and can cause damages... that's a myth....
one should eat more fish and exercise
