I think that animals are evolving. Evolution spands over such a long period of time, that our lifetimes are just a blip on the radar screen to actually witness any of it. However, we are starting to see changes in animal behavior. One such example, besides your dolphin example, is that one Gorilla who knows sign language is actually exhibiting signs of a belief in an afterlife. That is AMAZING, as we previously assumed humans are the only ones who are capable of such abstract thought.

As far as the evolution question goes, I don't think anyone who is alive now will see the "end of the world." If you look back into history, people have been calling out "Save yourselves before the end of the world!" for centuries. The truth is...we will probably be our own downfall. We will either just nuke the world to get back at each other or global warming will cook the Earth. Who knows, really? But I wouldn't worry about it - you won't see it. The only thing we can do now is support world peace, take care of the Earth as best we can despite the permanent damage we've already done, and hope for the best.

I've always had a feeling that old age will never happen for me. I dont' know if it is due to a coming apocolypse, but there truely are changes happening on this earth that can end it all. If we become more perceptive to these changes, perhaps we can be saved. I hope I do get old, and if I do, I feel like my daughter will be here to witness the end. That's also an interesting question. Is it fair to bear children in this day and age? So obviously close to the end????

the end is always just around the corner, it has been for thousands of years, but it will come when no one is expecting.
Live today like it is your last, pour every thing you have into it. do it again tomorrow.
when you are an old fart (like me) who never thought he could be half this age as a teenager you will look back with no regrets. Life is full - scary, hard , sometimes fun. but it is you who decides to throw it away like dirt or treat it a precious Jewel. Don't risk going to an old age home wishing you took more risks (most people at the end of their lives will tell you they wish they took more risks - none say they wish they played it safer!
If you are a Christian press in to Christ will all your strength, don't give in to north American complacency. that will make you middle of the road Christ said be hot or cold but if you are luke-warm I'll spit you from my mouth. This world is ending... and so will you...SO RUN!

Life as we know it may end any tomorrow soon, the world will spin on around the sun despite that for probably another 10-15 billion years. I don't share the common pretense that without humanity all intelligence and resourcefulness dies out. But since I am part of humanity I can do little else than make it happen for us humans, and I don't mean for all to end too soon.

Ready for a cold chill....

2 weeks before the 9-11 attack, I had a nightmare about it. So far I've talked to 3 others who had the same dream. It happened the same exact way in each of our dreams.

I've had a lot of other "dreams" that have come true. It's kinda scary. I don't understand why >I< have to have these dreams. Why can't it be someone else instead?

I believe the end is near. I don't believe we can even estimate exactly when. The bible does tell us that in the last days it will be just like it was in the days of Noah. People were lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God. They had the attitude of "if it feels good..do it" They didn't respect the marriage union so frequent marriages and divorces occurred. This sounds much like what is happening in today's world. With so much sin and violence going on it's only clear that this world can't continue on it's present course.

I know the rapture will happen pretty soon. When the middle east signs a peace treaty it will be broken after seven years by the antichrist. The rapture is somewhere around here. Then destruction happens and the world will eventually end. (There are more numbers but after the 7 years, I forget)

I don't think the world will ever come to an end. Well, in 5 billion years maybe when the sun goes supernova. I think that the world is changing and how we adapt to it depends on our existence. We may or may not survive but the world will be here.

The sun is set to run out of it's natural gas to sustain itself in 5 billion years. We've only been through a few centuries, I'm positive we have nothing to worry about in that department. Even so, I'm sure humans will have adapted to other outer space environments and / or made it capable of sustaining human life. In a few short decades we've gone from short farming to high technology (1900-2006) At this rate, we'll have done more than I believe one could fathom at this point in time. I'm sure we have nothing to worry about.
