I did, but still the media chose to make that as the focal point of his Hall of Fame induction. I think he was a great QB, but race shouldn't matter if a guy has talent and if he plays his position the way it should be played, which he did. Really, it was nice to see a black QB pass the ball instead of being a second tailback. Michael Vick, Culpepper, and Aaron Brooks should have watched Moon a little more and maybe they wouldn't be on the way to being fed through a straw and asking their family members what their name is when they're 65 like Mohammed Ali is doing right now. I'm simply making a point, everyone already knew Warren Moon was a black QB, so all of the black racists and the media shouldn't have made it an issue. They're the ones who constantly say that race shouldn't be an issue, yet they're the ones who repetitively keep pointing out a player's color, ethnicity, or racial background. An adjective comes to mind - that word would be hypocrite, they're all hypocrites.

If they wish to make race an issue, then I'd say that Warren Moon was and still is the only black QB to play the position like it should be played. He threw first and ran as a last resort.

Blkrose, all I'm saying is that it should be totally irrelevant what color he is. When it's something bad everyone always says, "Oh don't say that it's because of his or her race that he or she acts the way he or she does" but when it's something positive that's all people want to talk about is race or color when a black person does something. I'm saying race shouldn't matter if it's positive or negative. AND....I agree, he was a great QUARTERBACK, PERIOD. What if white people went around bragging about Dan Marino or Brett Favre making their white skin the topic of conversation, acting with pride that a white man could do so well as an athlete. You'd call everyone who said a word about them being white a racist.

Moon was a fantastic quarterback and an all round good guy too, a class act! Sometimes the media acts stupid and says and does some pretty stupid things which is so embarassing. It needs to quit being a matter of black and white and just about the players ability and talent. A similar thing happened when Doug Williams, a great black quarterback in a super bowl vs the Broncos was asked some ridiculous questions.

You know to say he was the FIRST Black QB to go into the Hall of Fame and then drop it at that I can understand. That makes it sound like other good Black QBs have been passed over so far. To keep pointing out he was black though is just out of hand. As to this idea that his numbers were inflated because of the offense, get a grip. If you want to say that then NO college QB should be put into the College Football Hall of Fame. After all any good college coach actually designs the offense aroung their QB. Of course the NFL has QBs that have better numbers because they have the playbook made for them. The QB is considered the leader of the team so what is so bad about designing the offense around them?

They made it a point because there is a stereotype that white quarterbacks are smarter and make better choices than black ones...and having that stereotype, they must have thought it was the strangest thing in the world that a black QB was so good.

Now...if you look at the great QBs out there....most of them you can think of...well they're white. There are some great blacks ones too...but nobody recognizes them as much. Now CURRENTLY..Mike Vick sucks *** at QB...but McNabb, Leftwich, and Culpepper are very great QBs...but compared to Favre, Manning, and Brady...people will always choose the white guys...and if you look at numbers and accomplishments...well...it still holds up.

Warren Moon was incredible..easily one of the best ever...but him being the only black QB in it...well that's actually pretty amazing if you look at the QB position a bit deeper. Most of the greats actually were white...so I dunno...good to see Warren Moon finally there...but I agree a bit, they did make it too much of a point instead of how great he was being the point.

Grats to all of them this year.....Can't wait to see Favre enter the HOF in a few years.

Yes I did, the reason they make such a big deal about it is that he is the only black quaterback in recent history to go into the hall of fame and the road he had to take to get there was hard

You know what is real funny, when you naive people say that race is not a factor. He was not drafted in the NFL because he was black after a good college career. In high school, college and pros they wanted him to change to another position.
There is nothing wrong with dreaming however sometimes you need to be realistic.

Charlie "Choo Choo" Brackins played for the Packers in 1955

as a former houston oilers fan i have to say that moon was overrated and not hall of fame material. his numbers were inflated because of the run and shoot offense, he was a big game choker, and what he did in the cfl is irrelevant. i do agree that race should not be factor anymore.
