Stress!! For instance in New York or California where there is always alot of traffice poeple are not as friendly. In areas like the south with country sights and country driving people are more laid back and friendlier.

I mainly find the rudeness that you're talking about in the Metro personally.
It honestly depends on where you go... likely for many, some are rude because they are trying so desperately to live in the metro areas... so it's a dog eat dog. The strong survive, and the weak end up moving back to places cheaper... It's a rat race and it's not fun... so not everyone is nice all the time. It's nothing personal. That's just how people are

Overpopulation, pollution, and traffic all weigh heavy on individuals. Some people cant live any other way, and dont even know that life in better in other areas. I'm very weather oriented, and I know it. I believe others arent even aware how all these things are factors in one's general disposition. Throw in drugs, and that makes for many flat out rude individuals.

Honestly, I think it just happens to be the people you have encountered along your way. I mean, I think there are nice people and rude people all mixed together. Where someone may find people rude, others will think they are nice. It just depends on who you happen to encounter. People are people everywhere. I think if people are happy they are nice and if they are miserable they are rude. It's hard to be nice when you are miserable and easy to be nice if you're happy. Sometimes if someone seems rude and you are nice to them anyway, they may come around and be nice to you back. May you meet mostly happy, nice people along your journey.

could be a combination of a lot of things: their mannerisms, misunderstandings, and/or inability to understand other people
