5% of Irish people have redhair so why do Americans think that all Irish people have redhair and freckles and if they don't there called "black Irish"? because its a stereotype.

The better question is why did my mother have curly red hair and freckles. She is NOT Irish. Genetics

Not all Irish women do And not all curly red heads with freckles are Irish.

Not true, I'm Irish and I'm dark featured. My sister does have curly red hair and freckles though. It all genetics.

this could be a stereotype on account that many Irish human beings do have a minimum of very honest pores and skin , freckles yet no continuously pink hair . nevertheless they nevertheless have greater pink hair than maximum folk interior the international, with the only exception of Scots.

I'm Irish but I have long,straight, brown hair!!!!I do have a few freckles though!!!And I love them!!

There is a mix. Some have black hair and blue eyes. Don't stereotype.
