I'm thinking of buying either a rabbit or a Guinea pig.

You could get your pet, and watch it for a while, and eventually it will "adopt" a name. Our hamster started out being named "Cinnamon" by my 9 year old, well, it has adopted into "Critter"
My Rabits were named Brittany, and Julie( My cat killed her) , We also had a Romeo and Juliette. (Don't let cats around them, even if your cat was a cat raised by you from birth, and has never left the house, cats carry the instinct, and will kill things like rabbits)
My guinea pigs all had similar names, well except for 2. We had Pickles(the odd ball) Guin E. Pig (guinea pig), Guinea, Guinivere, and Piggy Pig(my daughter named her) and squeaky was another odd ball, she adopted it after squeaking every time she heard plastic moving, she thought it was her carrots.

My kids had rabbits named Thumper, Snowball, and Trooper.
We also had two guinea pigs named Squeak and Gizmo. I think we had more fun with the guinea pigs because they were in the house all the time.
You have to be careful with rabbits and the heat unless you keep them indoors. One of ours died of heat stroke although he was in the shade and had plenty of water. The heat is just really hard on rabbits.

My father in-law had a guinea pig named killer, it was such a cute name and all the kids loved killer the cuddly guinea pig.
we also had a rabbit named Rambo, he was a lop eared, we like to be creative with our pets names, either way they are great pets. Give then time and their personalities help you pick a name...

Rabbit names: Wally, Bunny, Fluffy, Flopster, Snooper, JuJu, tootsie, Jamie, Shawnee, peter, skittles
Guinea pig names: Guiness, Greta, scooter, sampa, lucy, rug rat, carlos, randall, sadie, rolie polie, applejack

For a rabbit you could have such names as thumper, sparkle, gem and loads more
Gor guinea pigs : honey, lola, binka, pansy etc

Bunnies I have known: Israel, Bethlehem, Flopps, George,Benny, and Bob.
Guinea pigs I have known: Tony, Angel, Scuzz, Tippy, Peeps and Laura.

rabbits are cute, but sometimes their stinky.. i suggest to give your rabbit "mayshell".Guinea pigs are also cute so i suggest to give your guinea pig "azzy"
