Amazing that half of Americans still think so, even though no evidence and actually evidence there were none. Why is right wing talk radio and TV spreading disinformation (we call that lying where I come from)?

you people don't get what I'm saying. I don't care about reasons. I'm talking about people believing in something that doesn't exist.

Do you mean, why do people still think there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Because the public has been misinformed and lied too, and can't recover... Besides, people need a reason to justify the war there. Why are we there? To capture a leader who didn't have weapons of mass destruction? That logic's not gonna work to keep support for the ongoing war there.

Also, some people are ignorant. Bush has helped us confuse Iraq for Afghanistan, and those ignorant people can't think for themselves--they rely on other people's intelligence.

Bottomline, I don't know what sort of terrorists are in Iraq--all I know is that Bin Laden, the mastermind of 9/11, is in Afghanistan. And Al Qaeda's in Afghanistan too! The war was instigated to avenge 9/11, but the anger got channeled to Iraq and Saddam when the Bush administration misinformed the public that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. "We will get Bin Laden dead or alive," according to Bush, transformed into: "We will get Saddam dead or alive."

There are weapons of mass destruction.... In Korea where its leader also admits they have it, probably. In Iraq, no. None were found. Where did they go? Did they even have it? Probably not. Why did Saddam run from being captured? Wouldn't you, after denying you don't have something yet others just won't believe you and think you're already guilty?

Some people just like war. Some people also just like the energy of hate, and need to vent their personalities against ANY convenient target. These types have not been brought up to think clearly and question. Fuzzy logic and irrational behavior seems to guide their way no matter what. They NEED a false reality instead of sound logic, or else they would have to adjust a high level of inner emotional and mental distortion in their lives. It's easier and more convenient to stay on a familiar path instead of think, make adjustment's and learn new lessons.

Of course the type of folks that cling to bad intelligence reports, intelligence that might have been plausible in the 90's, but shown to be inaccurate by Bush's time, are on the more rare side. Still they have to justify their actions somehow, Bush included. The truth is just to painful and there are still profits to be made from lies and fear mongering. Only the most willing followers still believe this junk. And only the most disturbed of president's would start a war knowing there were no WMD's.

Its a matter of public record, you ignorant fool. Some president a numberof years ago gave em away. Don't know why, i wasnt born. But there was. We should be more afraid that we can't find them.

Its like, everyone in town saw you go to the gun store and buy a shotgun. Later, after a shooting, police come and search yuor house. Well hidden isn't the same as nonexistent.

Besides, I'm willing to trust Bill CLinton and John Kerry and Hillary CLinton and Ted Kennedy and most of the intelligence agencies in the world when tehy said Iraw had WMDs.

When Bill Clinton was president,he used the term Weapon of Mass Destruction in 22 speeches when speaking about Iraq. The United Nations believed Iraq had them as well.

The fact that none were ever found is a cause for celebration. It could have been much worse.

Here's how I see it:
clear use of weapons of mass destruction (used against their own people: poisonous gas against the Kurdish people), somewhat suspicious UN weapons inspections, no inspections for several years, suddenly INVITE the inspectors back and all the weapons are gone. Hmm ... whether or not Iraq presently has WMD is really irrelevant. There are lots of WMDs all over the world, and people will find them if needed. Did you notice where Hizbollah got their weapons? The Soviets!

It was well-known before Americans began the invasion that there were no WMDs.

At this point, I guess it is because the elections are nearing, a lot of truths are being said that could not have been said before, so I imagine this is part of the backlash.

It takes us 6 - 8 weeks to deploy to the other side of the world.

Can determined men with trucks and time move the weapons?

Would they leave expensive weapons to be confiscated ?

Any wonder the weapons were not found?

Men with trucks moved the weapons before our troops arrived !
