I have a DVR that records high def. I want to move some high def programming from my DVR harddrive to a DVD using a recorder. I know can't keep the high definition quality when I go to DVD, but will the recording be watchable as standard definition on the DVD? I fear that the final DVD will just have a jumpy picture that isn't watchable.

One detail: when I hook my DVR to a standard def TV using composite vid cable then play a High Def signal, the picture jumps around like crazy and is not watchable. That is what I'm worried will happen on a SD DVD.
