It is technically possible to do an DNA test on the unborn child, but it places the baby at a high degree of risk. An amniocentesis (a very long needle is inserted through the mother, into the womb and then into the amniotic sac the baby is inside) would have to be performed, and this has a 1 in a 100 chance of causing a miscarriage. To my mind, that's very high indeed, and not worth the risk, when the test can easily be done after the baby is born. Assuming the mother agreed, which is extremely unlikely, your cousin would find it extremely difficult to persuade a doctor to perform the procedure.

By the way, you need to adjust your attitude to women. Do you think your cousin is as morally corrupt as you seem to think the mother is, for having had sex?

Prenatal and Newborn Paternity Testing

Formerly, it was impossible to test babies until they were six months old. Testing blood from the umbilical cord of a newborn now is one of the most convenient and effective ways to obtain a paternity test. At the time of birth labor and delivery staff will take blood from the umbilical cord after the baby is born, collect from the mother and ship the samples to the laboratory. Arrangements must be made in advance and if the alleged father has been drawn prior to the birth, testing can start immediately.

One of the fastest growing areas DNA paternity tests is prenatal testing. While it has been possible for many years to perform a prenatal test for paternity, it has not been routinely done because of the small risk to the fetus and the long turn around time (six to eight weeks.) That is changing as the amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling procedures become more accepted and routine. These are the procedures for obtaining cells from the unborn baby which, in the past, have been limited to women over thirty-five or for families with a history of genetic disease. With the latest in DNA testing methods results can be obtained in a matter of days.

How do you think they would test the DNA on this illegitimate child? Why subject your fetus at all to a needle just because you are a too stupid to make the 12 guys you screwed that month wear a condom? Thankfully your parents or grandparents will be raising this baby.

I think its at like 5 months or so but I wouldn't try it. There's some risk to the baby. I would wait till the baby is born and then take it to get the DNA test.

most doctors will not preform a DNA test on a newborn. They want the baby to be in the 6 month range, because as a newborn, the baby had too much of the mothers blood in their body to get a true reading on the DNA test.

You can not have a dna test whilst you are pregnent, it can only be done once the child is done. I hope she is rich coz its gonna cost her a fortune in finding out who daddy really is. Has she been checked for hiv yet coz you need to tell her that she should. Sleeping with all these guys is putting herself at risk, and if she does have an infection then she is putting that baby at risk too. Has she not heard of condoms

You can do a test before the baby is done called amniocitesis but it is a risky procedure and could result in miscarriage and is only done in emergancy situations so a DNA test wouldn't warrent this.

You will have to wait until the babu is born,

having checked the only references to paternity testing says using swabs of the childs mouth and the fathers

there is no reference to testing prior to birth

To do testing prior to birth would involve a surgical proceedure which could only be done with the mothers approval

Would she agree to that ? I doubt it

the link below shows how to conduct a test and the costs

Testing Procedure

If you are requiring the test for personal knowledge only, we will require a buccal swab sample for testing. The buccal swab is a safe and painless method for collecting DNA from inside the mouth. You can quickly and safely collect the buccal sample yourself discreetly in the privacy of your own home. After collection, the swabs are sent directly to our laboratory for analysis. If you would like to arrange a private test, call our laboratory or submit a requisition form online or by mail to arrange for testing. A buccal swab collection package will be sent to you. Testing can be arranged online by clicking on this link.

If you are requiring a test for legal use, please contact the laboratory to discuss your situation and to determine whether we will be able to assist you. Please note that the regulations for legal testing vary greatly between different regions. Always check first with your lawyer or the requesting organization before proceeding with a legal test. Please note that for legal tests, you will have to attend an appointment for sample collection. A fingerprint and photograph will be taken at the time of the appointment and the collection procedure will be witnessed and documented by a third party witness. You must also bring two valid identification documents to the appointment.

at least 20 weeks through amniocentisis it is usually a test done for mothers who are 35 or going to be 35 at the time of the babys birth. it can cause miscairrage so i would wait until after the baby is born.
