I remember being in your shoes 30+Yrs. ago, at your age. What I did was talk to every school friend I knew, that was working, also I talked to every teacher that I liked, to see if they could steer me to any jobs. Also, I used the school programs, I joined D.E.C.A., J.A.(Junior Achievement), and talked to my High School Counselors, for help and advice. Everyone that I talked to about finding a job, was a huge help. Within two weeks of asking and looking, I landed my 1st job, at this time of year(right before school started), my math teacher(year before) helped me get my job. Through DECA, I landed my 2nd most favorite job, working for Tenneco Oil Co. I went from $2.32Hr.(Minimum Wage) to $5.80Hr. Part-Time @ Tenneco, by the 2nd semester of that school year.
I know it is scarey to look and ask for work, but as I said; "ask all of your teachers, and friends for their help." They know you and care about you, and I'm sure they want to help you succeed.
Last, go to your nearest Labor Office, and ask The Couselors at The Dep't. Of Labor for help. They are nice and will really help you in every way that they can. They have a wealth of information, and can match your present skills and education to many types of jobs, that could even help with your future education(college). It is all free, too!
You took the first and hardest step, by asking us for any help, so the rest should be easier to do. By the way; I grew up and went to school in SugarLand, TX(Houston).
I have never forgot about my friends and teachers that helped me get my first two jobs while in High School, or how far I have gone in life, from all of their help.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Make sure you do yourself a resume, (I know you've probably heard this a thousand times) even though you haven't worked before it looks good to list your interests and personal referees. Where possible take your resume to prospective employers in person rather than mailing it (this shows courage and initiative) also dress for the job you want, not necessarily the one you are applying for (so if its for a check out chick position but one day you want to manage the place put on a nice suit), presentation is vital.

Find out information about the company you are applying to, this impresses prospective employers and in interviews they will often ask you what you know about the company.

Don't appear desperate (even if you really want the job) employers are looking for someone who WANTS to work for their company and are not just desperate for a pay cheque.

Remember interviews are two way things, while an employer is deciding if they want to work with you, you can evaluate if you really want to work with them.

Keep up the good work and i'm sure you'll find something soon -good luck!

Gosh you're close to home =D Have you tried looking in grocery stores [like Food Town, Krogers, Randalls, Seller Bros, WalMart] or fast food restaurants? It definitely is hard to find a job here. My brother applied to H-E-B, hasn't got a call back. Look in the Greensheet or Houston Press. My first one was at Jack in the Box. So look in the paper and make note of job fairs. Or you could try Baybrook Mall..

Hey don't listen too red_necksuck he is a dumba** but anyway try putting a resume on monster or when you ask for a job no matter were always ask to see the manager don't give your application to just any employee because they might throw it away to save their own job but make sure you give the manager your best impression because it could mean the difference between getting the job or not good luck
