Would people still want to be my friend even though im small?

im only 2'10 and im a dwarf i want to know why people make in fun of me alot. i have friends but why do people always tell me im small and tiny. i hate it.i just want everyone to be my friend and no one to be mean.

I am sure you are going to meet some mean people in Yahoo Answers. I have found many heartless persons who try to make other participants miserable. They make nasty and unfounded remarks that hurt. I even had one person send an e-mail and make terrible remarks about my mother who died in 2002. This is painful for the heart. Recently I was diagnosed with liver cancer. I almost lost my will to live and turned to chat rooms. But the biggest lift to my spirit was Yahoo Answers. Now I can thank God that you are here, making friends, never caring of what people think about you.

I can not say I understand too much about your malady. But I can say that I had a friend who went to school with me in the sixties who was a midget. There was a program going on in the gym and a lot of people started jeering at him since he is a midget. I left my seat and grabbed the microphone; I told the audience that God made this boy; I asked if they thought they are being cute by making fun of my friend. You know, the place got quiet; my friend actually became quite popular.

You seem to have a pleasant and rosy demeanor; that is the gift that you can offer others. You see, it is your strength of purpose that causes people like me to see that you are not short at all; you stand tall in my heart and mind.

People that say mean things are probably very curious about you, but do not have the courage to ask you a direct question. If a child came up to you, without any malice and asked you, "Why are you so small?" Would you be kind to her? Try to put on a brave face and tell the child. "I'm a dwarf, do you know what that word is?" Now, what people are probably saying is "What's wrong with you?" Which is hurtful, but like the child, underneath the hurtful quip is still curiousity. They desperately want to know about you, but they are afraid to ask. I don't think that people are evil intentionally. A lot of people use humor because they don't know what to say. They say something that they think is funny, or they blurt out something and then get flustered and joke around.

So when someone says "What's wrong with you?" Try to put on a brave face and say "I have a condition called dwarfism, do you know what that is?" Then you will probably start a conversation...and conversation usually leads to friendships. Good Luck. Remember that there is beauty in all things.

People make fun of you because you are different than them, plain and simple. And because instead of asking you about your differences, they find it more comfortable to tease. People say you are tiny because, comparatively, you are. It's not fair for people to be so rude. If they talked to you, I'm sure they'd see that you are a person, like everyone else. And you deserve respect. Your plight in life is for a purpose. Perhaps you are meant to inform others of the fact that physical differences are just that - physical. They have no bearing on the human being inside. Relish in your friendships, and enjoy life. Despite the ignorance of others.

people are just afreid of what they dont understand, and unfortunatly a lot of times humans act out in rude or hurtfull ways in situations like this......and as far as people tellin you that you are small & tiny hunny its true you are small & tiny but this isnt a bad thing its just different & well some people just dont know how to act toward different people and/or situations, sorry. if its any consultation Id be more than happy to be your friend, Im not tiny or small but Im diabetic & have a big butt!!! You are a person just like everyone else, and I can't see why people that aren't mean, wouldn't want to be your friend! People make fun of things they find different. Smarter people, or people that have traveled a bit, or people that are just nicer than most, don't care that you are small. They care if you are a nice person, and interesting, and it seems you are.

People are just inconsiderate of other peoples feelings and rude about it. You are you and what you look like is not what makes you. Always remember that. Also the next time someone tells you that you are little or tiny, ask them if they have heard of a mirror, cause you look in one everyday and are well aware of your size.

I understand completely like if I were you I would stick with my friends I mean there are some mean kids but, even if you weren't different there is always people who aren't gonna like you there are some people that don't olike me i'm 11 and i know this girl thats like you i mean she dosen't have friends because she's a little brat no offence but alot of people (including me) have tryed to be friends with her but we couldn't because she would scream at us and tell us to leave!!!! So be thankful for what you have because it could always be worse!!!

don't feel alone when i was 10 i was overweight and kids called me fat. i was very depressed and angry a lot.

people make fun of you because they are selfish they don't take for who you really are. i should know.

now i am in the 12 grade and now people treat me like im their best friend i dont trust them because of my past

Yes, there are still good people in this world, who are friendly, you just have to weed the bad ones out unfortunately.
