Lots of problems with armadillos. Yes they do make a mess of your yard and are hard to get rid of. They are digging to eat grubs and other dirt dwelling bugs. I have used "live traps" and moved them away. I've tried sulfur and other stuff like that. The only thing that worked for me was the shotgun method. Did you know that each time they breed it produces four babies. I didn't want to kill them but they will undermine your foundations and cause home damage. Local county extension agent didn't give much help either. Here in GA there isn't any animals who prey on them so other than an occasional dog or very hungry bobcat they live pretty much untouched.

They have been useful in lab research on human diseases.

In your lawn/garden area or feed store, they have or can get you sulfur granules. This is a proven product to use because armadillos, skunks, snakes, and lots of others do not like this stuff because it burns their skin. It is really good for ticks, fleas, ants & much more. It is very reasonable to buy and easy to apply all around your house. It comes in a 50lb bag, spread it, and lightly water it for good effect., or you can contact your local agriculture office and they may recommend something for you. Good Luck!!!
