it has never happened before, but to answer your question, any moving object in space will continue on indefinitely at its predefined velocity, but then you have to take into consideration of factors such as half time (decay), and interferance of other gravitational fields such as planets and event horizon (black holes)

Well, Lets see....
We havent had that many astronauts die actually. Yet, if they did and if the agencies are unable to bring back the vehicles in time to earth OR if they happen to go lose outside their ships unattached, they will go round and round earth. Some day in future they will enter the orbit and burn before they reach land.
