A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes. He stays up for days on end.
-- --
You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water.
-- --
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
-- --
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
-- --
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
-- --
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
-- --
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
-- --
You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
-- --
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He does not get to eat today.
-- --
You make your bed and wash your clothes. He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
-- --
You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
-- --
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
----
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
-- --
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
-- --
You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
-- --
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government and remembers why he is fighting.
-- --
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him. He hears the gun fire and bombs.
-- --
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the bodies lying around him.
-- --
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does what he is told.
-- --
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
-- --
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable. He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire
-- --
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him.

I love what our Constitution stands for, but unfortunately America does not follow that God-given document anymore. Anyone who says differently needs to study up on the Patriot Act, the Federal Reserve, Federal Income Tax, the destruction of our checks and balances etc...the list goes on and on I'm afraid.
If this was World War 2 I'd be writing a pretty little poem right now, but I will NOT bury my head in the sand no matter how much I respect what those soldiers (think) they are standing for. Best thing you can do for them is teach them about God, cus America's going to need Him "real" soon. God Bless those soldiers, but get them home!

I wish I had a good tribute, but I'm not very creative. I have two cousins in the Marines right now, and I think it would be a good idea to do something for them like you mentioned. As far as the Bush-bashers go, if you think you can do better, then run for office. Nobody could have done any better in the same situations Bush has been in. Love it or leave! Oorah!

How funny that I should come across this question! I just recieved this e-mail......

This is cool. I did it, you should, too.

If you go to the web site http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?

I sent mine, now you send one too!

Hope this helps!!

Write LOTS of letters to "any soldier" and thank them for what they are doing for us. The guys who don't get many letters from home can get these letters, send pictures. Let them know they are on our minds and in our hearts every day. Just let them know they are not alone in this, we Remember and pray for their safe return. Thank Them.
I think you can get a general address from Dear Abby or your local recruitment office.

The BEST tribute I could ever give to one who lost their life in Iraq would be to VOTE OUT THE REPUBLICAN NEO-CONS this November.

How much more blood must flow because of a war brought on by lies and deception?

The best thing being over there would be a mass agreement to write to their state's senators to bring them back. The best thing in the world when being away from home is to come back! It's all I wanted to do.

the best thing I think is.....every time you see a soldier, ya shake his hand and thank him for going to war!, treat them with the utmost respect-treat them like a father, son, brother. Becasue they not only faught for us...they fought INSTEAD of us. We owe them alot more than they get in return!

Get rid of the crooks who sent them into harm's way and bring the troops home.
