ChaCha Slide by DJ Casper

""Cha Cha Slide" is a 2000 song/dance sometimes referred to as the "Casper Slide". This song is often played at dance clubs, parties, and particularly Midwestern United States and Canadian weddings.

The Cha Cha Slide is a dance created by Chicago's DJ Casper, aka Mr. C. It is an update of the Electric Slide, and includes DJ Casper's called-out instructions.

DJ Casper developed the Cha Cha Slide in 1996 for Bally Total Fitness; it became a hit with gym members, and the dance's popularity prompted Mr. C to record Cha-Cha Slide: The Original Slide Album in 2000. The following year, the dance caught on around the USA, where urban contemporary radio stations (and later mobile DJs), particularly in Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Arkansas and Detroit.

In Europe the song is commonly played in night clubs and discos, especially around the Mediterranean.

DJ Casper has in fact made another version of the Cha Cha slide, which, though played at dance parties, is less common and less danced to.

MC Jig also did a version of the song, which reached #33 in the UK, but the DJ Casper version was far more successful, reaching #1 on the same chart in 2004. The song is popular at high school and middle school dance events."-Wikipedia

I just heard it at a wedding a week ago and was wondering the same thing. It sounds just like a song we sing at school (I teach kindergarten) called Get Funky.

So I searched and this is what I found:

It looks like it is by a couple of people. Such as Casper and DJ Cheeks. Those two seem to be the most popular when I googled it.

My middle school used to play this at every one of their stupid dances... Damn, I can't remember the name. Something about a cha cha? I don't recall correctly.
