First of all...
Do not go for a guy because of his looks! Get to know him! Then see if you want to date him.
Being in different schools is good because then, you cant have 'too much' together time.

Do you talk to him? If not, talk to him. If so, talk to him more.
That's the only way you will be able to gauge if he likes you.
Or, if you're so inclined, you could do the usual high school thing and ask one of your friends to ask one of his friends what he thinks of you ...

The same thing happened to me and I didn't talk to the guy and really regretted it, even to this day. So definitely talk to him.
