New Yorkers don't think of the rest of the country, whether they're winning or losing. Everyone else are just hicks.
Some don't even think Brooklyn is part of NYC.

Why does the rest of the country think New York is 1 city filled with arrogant rude people? Are you aware that there's a whole friggin' state attached to it, filled with plenty of other kinds of people?

Are you using impressed as a verb? or an adjetive?
because everyone is impressed by New Yorker's
only
some have a good impression
some have a bad impression
